Burgers

Burgers are one of the three major food groups in Santa Fe. Especially a green chile cheeseburger. But when it comes to burgers, these are the places where the locals slide into.

  • Del Charro—Another iconic downtown venue, this Western-themed watering hole serves up great drinks and grub. They grind their own grass-fed beef every day for burgers which keeps the locals coming back for more.

  • El Parasol—Yea, it's a taco spot but everyone raves about the burgers.

  • Real Burger—A local fave, Real Burger serves up your choice of flattop or char-grilled burgers and they make homemade French fries. What's not to love?

  • Santacafe—If you want a burger in a fancier setting, head straight to Santacafe. Burgers and white tablecloths are a match made in heaven.

  • Santa Fe Bite—The former owners of Bobcat Bite, Bonnie and John Eckre rebranded Santa Fe Bite and relocated to a strip center off St. Michael's (after leaving the Garrett's Desert Inn). Their fan base continues to roll in for a green chile cheeseburger and fries just like the old days.

  • Shake Foundation—Plopped near the corner of Paseo de Peralta and Cerrillos, this burger joint is always hopping. Is it the burgers or the shakes? Get both and find out for yourself.

  • The Burger Stand—Gourmet burger spot serving meat & veggie patties, plus draft beers in a comfy setting with a patio.

  • The Mineshaft—Head south of town into the tiny mining town of Madrid (pronounced like madras than the city in Spain), and don't blink because you can miss it. This charming, historic community is home to a few great restaurants. Burgers aficionados drive here when they want to fuel up on a real burger.
